Dream.exe is a science fiction comics anthology exploring the magical and mysterious relationships between humans and machines.

Stuff like.. Immortal Tamogotchis, Sentient Waifus, Online-Forum-Friendships, Haunted Game Cartridges, All-powerful Hackers, Ancient Computers or whatever else you can think of!

From love and loss in online friendships, to adventures with robot companions in far-off digital worlds, your story can explore the emotional depths of what it means to be human in a world where technology constantly challenges that meaning...

Whether it's a tale of love and loss, digital demons, or something entirely different, we invite you to pitch your own story for consideration and discover what happens when you run Dream.exe.

  • Submissions will open on Feb 1st 2023 and close April 15th.

Judging will begin April 15th immediately and selected comics will be announced by April 30th

Finished Comics will be due October 1st

  • We want to see unique and original responses to our prompts. All creative voices are welcome and we actively hold space for under represented voices.

    • A solid premise. This could be the elevator pitch or a fully fleshed out script

    • Some art samples. This could be some concept art for your story or it could be samples of past work. We just want to know what we can expect an end product to look like!

    • Please keep content: PG-13, T for Teen, Mild Fantasy Violence, “Smoking Makes You Cooler”

    • Only one pitch per creator / Team. If you submit multiple pitches they will all be ignored.

  • Our stories are funded via Kickstarter.

During production we will work with select contributors on cover art and internal illustrations on a commission basis. Commissions will be paid during production before Kickstarter Launch.

Profits from Kickstarter will be split between contributing stories. Stories with more than one creator will be independently responsible for deciding how to fairly split their share.

    Kickstarter funds will go towards:

    1. Printing

    2. Commission Costs

    3. Split Between Contributors

    4. On the off chance this thing blows up we will start putting funding towards OSV3

Contributors will retain all rights to their stories and images. One Shot will have exclusive publishing rights to selected stories for a period of one year. One Shot will be allowed to use any WIP images shared in the Discord or on Social Media for promotion of the project. One Shot will provide a contract written based on contributor feedback to keep everything by the book. Its a simple, straight forward artist friendly contract.

This Call for Entries is open to anyone and everyone with the single requirement that you are over the age 18. We will be signing a contract and misrepresenting your age is lame (and illegal) and we don't want to talk to parents for permission or talk to kids so come back later or start your own anthology! If at anytime we learn that you did misrepresent your age you will be booted from communications and barred from participating in the future.
